Beading has always gotten my interest. When I was a kid, I used to buy colourful beads and string them together to make colourful bracelets for myself. When I grew older, I love looking at beautiful beads embroideries in dresses and accessories and silently wishing I could do all those for myself, with colours of my choice. Butttt.... I never had the courage to try making one myself. Why? Because I was afraid I will stop halfway looking at how much hard work and time I have to dedicate to it.
This year, I finally decided to prove to myself that if others can do it, I can do it too.
So after numerous trials and errors of figuring out the right technique to sew on the beads coupled up with a reference book, I was finally on my way. The feeling of accomplishing each and every motifs, and to look at my own completed bead work was beyond words. I'm giving my very first artwork to mummy for her birthday. I plan to turn this piece into a shawl so she can use it to formal dinners. So another set to go to balance up both sides. =)
Here is my very first art-piece! Tadaaaaaa~! Not great, not fine, but hey, it's my first time, and I think it looks reasonably acceptable and prettyyyyyyyy! Har Har Har~!
I'm planning to do myself a collar of white and silver beads to put on my dinner dress so I can use it when there are any suitable occasions. Love love recycling my dresses! Hehe! That however, will have to wait till the next NEXT weekend cause I have to finish mummy's present first! =D
